I love this thing. I have used it about 50 times. It is very portable for car camping. In addition to using it as a BBQ grill, I take out the grill and put pots and pans directly on the heat shield and use it as a stove. It works surprisingly well!!! If I want to I can even put the lid on while my pots and pans are on the shield. The only thing that would make this product more portable was if the handles popped off and back on quickly. The handles make it slightly cumbersome to stow in a car.
I am a young broke college student but my boyfriend and I make it a point to go camping every year. We've only used this grill since we got it. Last year my mom left it out side and it weathered in the element so we got a new one and I am still as happy as ever. It has the possibly to make everything from toast to eggs, burgers and steaks. It cheap and worth what you pay for it, I recommend this to my friends when they want to go camping or find other grills too expensive or I you have a small apartment and don't have space for a large grill. Buy the 2-pack of the little propane tanks, this grill will get u through the camping season.
Bought for camping, found it was difficult treading gas cylinder onto regulator, unit is unstable, poor heat distribution, constantly having to relight as a mild breeze would extinguish the flame. In the past I have had a similar BBQ made by Char Broil that used lava rocks for heat distribution and was happy with the unit for an occasional camping trip. This unit is so bad it shouldn't even be sold. I'm going to spend $100 or so and go for quality, as for this BBQ, I only have myself to blame. The price was too good to be true.
I own several grills and wanted a small grill to use when camping... this grill i thought was perfect, it is cheap and portable. however after my 3rd time using this product the regulator broke and it is not covered under warranty. a new regulator costs $26 and the grill itself costs around $30. Further, the heating element does not heat evenly and the flame blows out very easly so you need to watch it carfully so gas is not released
