Milled face with Tru-Roll™ design reduces skipping at impact for more accurate putts
I've used a ping blade putter for 15 years. I've always struggled putting. I picked up the mallet style tear drop because of the price and milled head. I have never putted better. I thought I was buying this putter just to try a mallet style and upgrade later but this will be my putter for years to come.
I love Teardrop putters; the minimally curved face makes for a smooth rolling putt. I find it makes slow greens 'feel' faster. I think Teardrop putters are no longer being made, so each one is special.
I have tried everything from the old copper Ping to the two ball long putters. I just needed a simple look like my anser blade with a little more weight built into the blade to help me finish off those tough 4 footers. It's a great lag putter too. Good luck getting one before Fathers Day. I just bought the TDX 04 (green grip) as a backup for my TDX 03 ( yellow grip)I'm not a kid and the grips are a bit neon for me but they feel great! I've been winning with this putter and that's all that matters.
I was looking for an alternative to my current high end putter, which I spent well over $100 on thinking it would save me strokes. Turned out I was wrong. Wanted something less expensive just to try out and found this Teardrop TDX-02. The minute I picked it up it just felt right. I tried several more expensive putters on the store mini-green and each time I came back to the TDX. Sunk putt after putt and was able to easily judge the distances based on the feedback and feel it provided. I had a 20% off coupon making it about $30. Took it to the course thinking maybe it was just the store's putting green, but was happy to find out it works the same on a real course. The only negative was that it did not come with a headcover...but the salesman found me another one to fit.
Don't know how long this has been in stock, but I love Teardrop putters and think they have been out of business for awhile. I was worried that this was some cheap remake but it is a beautiful milled putter. And of course, always rumored that Bettanardi helped to design these flat sticks which is a plus. I thought it was to come with a cover but love the club, shaft and nice mid-sized black and yellow grip (my legendary colors at my club).
I WENT TO PURCHASE ANOTHER TYPE OF PUTTER BUT ONCE I PICKED UP THIS PUTTER AND STARTED ROLLING THE BALL I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. PURCHASED THE PUTTER AND PLAYED THE NEXT DAY WITH IT AND 1 PUTTED 8 GREENS! THE NEXT ROUND I PLAYED I ONE PUTTER 11 GREENS. IT REALLY GETS THE BALL ROLLING TRUE AND THE FEEL WITH THAT GRIP IS AMAZING!
