Cheap tube tape. Both tires blew out after less than 20 miles atarea where tube tape meets the spokes. Tape was dry rotton a bit. Breaks are cheaply designed.

I ride my "Tour de France" (hey with a name like that its gotta be good, right?!) to work and school for an average of about 24 miles a day 5 days a week. I blew both my tires inflating them for the first time due to the extremely cheap tube tape. *Tube tape protects the tube from filling the recesses of the spokes while inflating, which causes blow outs.* After that fiasco I could not make head nor tails of the instruction manual which also has instructions for 5 other bikes mixed in no particular order. Since I had some experience and a good friend, I got it done in about 2 hours. This bike rides pretty well for being on the heavy side of road bikes. It is overall comfortable (with my new seat!) and I like my shimano derailleur. I still need to get my tires trued, brakes adjusted, and derailleur tuned. For [$] this is not a bad buy at all. Just know to get it where it is most efficient will cost you another $100 or so.

The bike was kind of complicated to put together. Also, it was scratched when I received it. The manual sucked because it had no instructions for road bikes. Once put together, things started looking up. It rides pretty well but I've been on smoother road bikes. My advice: don't buy a bike online without seeing it in person first.
