These are great. Fit is perfect. The laces and two straps add to the support and the padding prevents them from straining my feet/ankles. Only downside are the wheels. They are slightly soft, so they do wear out a bit fast. If you follow the rotation pattern, it helps alot. Despite the softness, the blades still glide well, grip well, and have a good speed.
got these for only [$] on this site, and lucky i got them at that time because now they're double the price. very good buy. just tried them out today and i havent skated for a few years, and quickly got the hang of it. the ride is really smooth and fast. great if you want to get a work out. i got a half a size up since they didnt have a 6.5 which is fine since it fits perfectly fine. it is a little tight but i just have to adjust the straps. i wish it came with an allen wrench so i could take off the break but its fine.
Let me preface my review by saying I used to skate all the time; used to race both on skates and skis.
So, it bothered me when I picked up a pair of these guys after reading all the great reviews online and found that the wheels wore out after two very, very (talking 2 miles tops) short skating sessions. The front left wheel was down almost down to the hub and the other wheels were literally, shredding at the point of contact.
Now, I'm not a light weight, I weigh 215 lbs, but I was shocked that a wheel would wear so quickly. I don't know if maybe I got a bad batch or the quality of the wheels in general is cheap.
I was also not a fan of the soft boot design. Call me old fashioned but I definitely prefer a hard shell boot to help with support.
I intend to throw another set of wheels on these guy and up the durometer rating from 80A to 85A. It was my first time out on skates in over 10 years; but If they shred again then I'll know that the problem isn't the skate.
These Skates are wonderful. They feel great and glide like your on a cloud. Unfortunately fell on the first day I wore them due to the road all of a sudden going to dirt and gravel, and tore up part of the leather.. So other than that they are great
I got these as a pair of starter skates. The boots are very comfortable. The front of the boot seems a bit loose, but I've got very narrow feet so that's more my problem than the skates. The cuff gives adequate support but I'm still turning my ankles in. I think that's probably a technique issue but a second buckle above the ankle might have helped. All in all, I'm please with the skates and look forward to getting some road miles on them.
