When I got the bike, it was great. Then the brakes stopped working. I only had it for a few days before that happened. I got them repaired, then they started to squeak really loud and obnoxiously. The gears are completely messed up, I've brought it in for repairs because of the sound of the clunking between gears when I wasn't changing the gears. I've brought this bike back to sports authority for repairs around 5 or 6 times. The chain has fallen off of it before. I keep it inside of my garage, no exposure to rain, no rust on it at all, it's in perfect condition ... the bike is just a pile of trash. Even after the repairs, the thing is still slightly broken. It needs to gears fixed AGAIN (for the 3rd time) and the brakes fixed AGAIN (for the 2nd time). Hopefully I can return it and get my money back or swap it out for another bike of the same value. My recommendation to you is not to buy this bike.

do not waste your money and do not have store assemble it , Do not buy an extended warenty.
Shifting is bad , pedals fall off seat slides around. Ft wheel quick release came loose. We took back for a tune up in Encinitias Ca and it was worse then we took it in after a two week wait. GO elsewhere and spend a little more with a company that stands behind their product. I still love sports Authority for other items just not bikes.

Got this bike to ride casually. I don't ride alot, maybe about 100 miles on it. When I went to refill the tires this spring, one valve stem came off, new tire holds air way better than stock. Brake squeal badly, pads are junk. Gears change smoothly, but I have had a hard time getting the front gears tuned in, there never seems to be enough play to use all 3 sprockets on the front, not a big deal for me, I rarely drop out of 3. Handles bar worked loose while riding, now I tighten every time I ride. Both pedals have torn up, said screw it, even though I have the SA extended, I don't want the same garbage pedals so I just bought a good set of alloys. I don't ride that hard at all, yet still to hard for some of the parts. Overall I like riding the bike, especially for the money, but don't expect heavy trail ready parts.

Honestly cannot think of anything that this bike does well. GIANT waste of money, should've and probably will upgrade to the Diamondback Sorrento, which is only $40 more!! The gears are junk, they would jump out of gear frequently and I was very nervous peddling uphill afraid the gears would change without me actually wanting them to. Brakes belong on a kids bike also, horrible. If anyone is seriously looking at this bike, you should honestly spend the extra $40 to $50 for a WAY better bike. Very disappointed.

I have used the bike for both the road & trails. I've ridden about 300 miles in the last 3 months. It's fun and versatile - the concerns: 2 sets of pedals the first 100 miles (I've since put on an expensive upgraded set), handle bars broke loose after 50 miles, grips pull out every couple rides, tires drop about 10-15lbs of air every couple rides. Overall a good starter bike, just have some basic tools & ensure everything is in good shape & tight prior to your ride.

Purchased bike to ride easy trails with my kids. If you purchase, buy the services plan and keep the receipt. This will save you. The front gears shifting has never worked properly for more than 1 ride. It would not pop into 3rd gear. The last ride with the bike was on a fast downhill and as I tried to move the front gear to 3rd, the derailleur mangled out of shape and the chain jammed between gears rendering the bike useless.

WE bought this for our son last June for his birthday. He said the gears never worked right and the brakes squeaked. Last night we were about to go up a hill in our town and I heard him shift gears and then a terrible crunching sound. The whole back gear section is so bent into the spokes the wheel wouldn't turn so he had to wait there while I went to get the car. I can't believe we paid what we did for this and we won't be getting another bike for him unless it's a Trek or Specialized or some recognized brand. I asked my husband to take this back to Sports Authority and show them how mangled it is. I'll write back to say if we got any money back or satisfaction this issue.
