I initially ordered these in my usual size, which I almost never vary from. They were a bit tight, especially so with thicker hiking socks, so I returned them for the next 1/2 size up. Very glad I did. I wore these recently for the first time on an approx 6-mile hike, and they were very comfortable. There was some pretty rough terrain, and the boots performed very well. I could barely feel the sharp rocks through the sole. Very happy with these so far.

I hiked for 6 weeks on the AT, and the boot was comfortable. I have flat feet and wanted a boot with moderate support and ligher weight. These worked great for me.

The shoes was ordered for my wife before our trip. It was received 3 days before leaving. The shoes are light and nice looking. It felt a little snug and tight but thought it would be okay. However, it turned out to be uncomfortable. Normally, the size she uses is 5-1/2 or 6. Since the store did not have the size available at the time to try out, we found out it could be ordered on-line from the store. To be safe, we ordered the size 6 instead of 5-1/2. The toe clearance in front was close but thought to be okay. But when walking down an incline, it pushes against the front. She really likes the product but should have ordered the half size larger and a wide shoe if it was available. It is too bad finding this out on the trip and can't return it for replacement.
