My child has this backpack that is 3 years old and is using it now in high school with tons of books and still holding up. I purchased another one just in case his old one doesn't hold up. This bag expands and has loaded spring bands. Holds a water bottle, has many compartments, and has a lifetime warranty. This is the biggest and best price backpack and most durable.
Bought one of these packs for my 5th grader last year. It held up well and could carry a lot of things...books, lunch, extra pair of shoes, snowpants. He is using it for 2nd year and it still looks brand new. My high schooler had a different backpack and though it held up well through the year, it did not hold as much. For the 2015-16 year, high schooler got one of these and is much happier. We ordered an extra backpack as a back-up. Price from Sports Authority was much better than the in-store packs here.
I purchased two before finally ending up at a local tailor's to have the "load springs," that twice came unsewn, reinforced. Arguably, the pack is large and has, for the most part, the right number of pockets. I'm a college student, and with a laptop, a few notebooks, calculator, a couple of odds and ends bags and a water bottle, it couldn't take the weight (I carried no textbooks... there wasn't room with a laptop). A classmate had the same experience with a different model Adidas backpack.
Most disappointing: when I emailed Adidas to tell them of the problem they advised, "please contact our licensee." I did, and received no response. Save your receipt.
