Great Item for the Data Junkie

Comments about Wilson Sony Smart Tennis Sensor:

I am all about the data behind the tennis training devices. I own a Zepp, Babolat Play and now the Sony Sensor.
They Sony Sensor is by far the best of the three items and I absolutely LOVE it!
If you are interested in how long you play, how many shots you hit, what types of shots you hit and where you are hitting the string bed, this is the item you want to get.
The depth of the data is so detailed compared to the other two. Instead of a graphic of 5 areas on the stringbed, you get a heat map of where your shots hit. You can zoom in to your shots and watch the heat map change in real time.
The Babolat Play and Zepp only tell you Forehand, Backhand, Overhead and Serve for shot selections. From there you can see slice/topspin. The Sony goes deeper showing you Forehand and Backhand Volleys as well and breaking down your
One cool aspect in the Sony app is you can record your sessions and watch the impact locator as you hit. Or if you have a coach, they can watch your shots in real time and give instant feedback.

The one downside is there are limited racquets you can use. One example of this is it's compatible to the Head GrapheneXT Speed or Instinct racquets. If you have a 2014 Graphene version, it's technically not supported. Because they have all the specs set into the sensor, you would technically get slightly off data on the heat map because there is a small weight difference between the two.

If you want to work on your technique (especially with a coach), this is a great item to have.
I've even abandoned my Babolat Play because of this!
