Comments about The North Face Men's Ultra Trail Running Shoes:

I have not used this shoes for a long time. However, I tested it comfortable and waterproof. It is the exact size to fit my foot. It works just like a pair of sock but full of support. It is also waterproof when I weared it all rainy day.
I recommended this shoe to my girlfriend. I think she will get it soon. We will wear them to have a 15 days trip around the west of America, included hiking in Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. We are excited about it!

Comments about The North Face Men's Ultra Trail Running Shoes:

I was very happy and surprised by how light these shoes were. Also, quite breathable.

The size is also great. No squeezed toys and just enough room at the end to mitigate possible toe smash or crunch.

Comments about The North Face Men's Ultra Trail Running Shoes:

The shoe was a little pointy witch i didn't liked had to end up returning because i though the shoe was meant to be worn in extreme conditions such as snow mud mountains and such not for an everyday casual wear

NorthFace Ultra Trail GTX - Men's

        By BigRed15

        from Duluth, MN

Comments about The North Face Men's Ultra Trail Running Shoes:

I live in Duluth, Minnesota, so I wanted a waterproof shoe with a deeper tread to handle the ice/snow conditions of Duluth winters. I love that my feet don't get wet when I'm running since I've learned that staying dry means staying warm. The one thing that I dislike about these shoes is the fit. It feels almost as if the outside portion of the shoe is raised, so I feel a lot of pressure on the outside edge of my feet. There is also no arch support. I don't notice these fit issues too bad once I'm running, but I can really feel it while walking.

        MEN??S ULTRA TRAIL GTX

        By Surf

        from Sherwood CC

Comments about The North Face Men's Ultra Trail Running Shoes:

I am a professional caddy, caddying for over 30 years, needless to say I spend most of my days on the grass and thats how I like it. Early morning conditions on the golf course are 9 times out of 10 wet conditions, wet cold feet are not happy feet and I have had thousands of those mornings and days where my feet get wet early and stay wet until I change shoes and sox. I have tried several other brands of shoes and although they may stay dry for a round or two and sometimes three inevitably they get soaked and the feet get cold. Rubber booties do work but are heavy and uncomfortable.
I have been wearing the Mens Ultra Trail GTX for the last 15 rounds and so far so good, they have stayed dry and are easy to walk and run in. The telltale is when I take my shoes off after the round and my socks are still dry. i would recommend the Mens Ultra Trail GTX
to anyone who spends countless hours on there feet in wet and cold conditions.
        All the best.

Comments about The North Face Men's Ultra Trail Running Shoes:

I go on an aggressive pace 1 hour hike every other day in the hills of Marin County, CA as part of my workout routine. I usually would buy Nike Alvords - a cheap shoe ($70 or so) with an aggressive trail tread. My routine was to wear them out in 6 months throw them away and get the next Alvord. I had done that from version 3 through version 11. Other brands would not fit my feet, Adidas had aggressive arches and other brands never felt good in the store.

Two Weeks ago I was hunting for Alvords with no luck and chanced into the North Face Store, a rep Bryson met me and offered assistance. I told him I was looking for a trail running / hiking shoe. He showed me the Ultra Equity GTX, highlighted the features and offered to let me try them on. Being a cheapo I was worried about $130 for a shoe. I tried them on and man, they felt good. Great features, sticky aggressive vibram treads , Gortex fabric, waterproof to at least 1 " deep, flat laces that enhanced comfort, lifetime warranty. The price scared me - after all - I was looking for Alvords, I left the store.

I went to another store - no Alvords. Then it hit me - lifetime warranty = no way a company could offer that without building a tough product. I burned through the Alvords every 6 months = 2 x $70 = $140. If the Ultra Equity GTX last just ONE year - I am ahead and it is a much better shoe. I bee lined back to the North Face Store and had Bryson get them. He said "I didn't even really put them away - I could tell you were coming back." Good Call Bryson.

2 Weeks, about 40 miles and my feet love them. Rubber on bottom is very sticky on rocks, and the tread does not slip even in the late Summer dust covered, steep trails around here. I have learned to tie them for comfort, no need for really tight, the flat laces do help with comfort. Others complained the sole is thin but I do not notice it even on pointed rocks, yeah you feel the rock but it is muted and the sole flexes for grip on slick surfaces. Shoes feel a bit "warm" on hot days but never overheated - Goretex vents the moisture out so feet stay reasonably dry.

Moral of the story - Don't be a cheapo - Treat Yourself to a Quality Shoe.
