Comments about The North Face Banchee 50 Technical Pack:

I've had this pack on many trips and I love it. Super light and fits lots of gear, and compresses all the gear packed inside. It has plenty of cusomizable straps to fit your need and you can easily transfer weight from your hips to shoulders and back.

Comments about The North Face Banchee 50 Technical Pack:

I brought this with me on the Camino De Santiago in 2014. Started off at 14lbs & 50 days later when I returned to the states it was up to 25lbs. I never had any pain issues with my back, the built in lumbar support was superb. Backpack never slid down & stayed on my hips. It never felt like the weight was on my shoulders, it all stayed right on my hips like it should. I did wish the lid would be removable so I could of used it as a fanny pack to keep my valuables with me in the shower/grocery store/bar. After 40 days of being out in the weather we had one big rain storm & some of the items in my bag did get wet. A built in poncho would of been nice. Out of all the rain days I only had that 1 bad rain day. Me & this bag spent alot of time bonding & if I was to do it all over again this would be the first item id pick for my journey.

Pacific Crest Trail not ready for WILD

By RevoRanger

from Albuquerque

Pros

  • breathable

Cons

    Best Uses

Comments about The North Face Banchee 50 Technical Pack:

OK took this pack as one of the better fitting 50 liter packs for the Pacific Crest Trail... an almmost 800 mile trek this fall. First pack had a major failure at the shoulder straps. turned in and replaced after 350 miles. The second pack l/xl frame failed less than 20 miles to the mexican border. Really disappointed since the fit was good . I really needed the frame to be about 1/2 inch longer so that the load lifter strap would have been a bit higher off the shoulder. The fabric of the main bag was durable but subject to wetting after out in the rain...all the way through. Both of the side pockets were failing pretty soon as well. Ditto for the waist strap pockets. If TNF would contact me I can discuss what worked and what did not further.
