Very happy about this shoe

By Jasonmd

from Tulsa, OK, United States

Comments about MIZUNO Women's Wave Prophecy 3 Running Shoes:

I bought my first pair of wave prophecy 3's today and put about 4 1/2 miles on them. And all the good reviews about them were correct. Was everything they said they were. Completely stable but totally soft. Perfect run.

Heavy Runner

By bberndt38

from Farmington Hills, MI, United States

Comments about MIZUNO Women's Wave Prophecy 3 Running Shoes:

I bought two pair since Summer. I like the cushioning it provides for heal striking, especially on cement. For a heavy runner, this works well for daily training and I recommend this for long runs.

feel good

By stormsailor1981

from Charlotte, NC, United States

Comments about MIZUNO Women's Wave Prophecy 3 Running Shoes:

i only have about 40 miles on these as i rotate between 3 pairs. i had heard that mizuno made great shoes so i used the online site to suggest a replacement for my kensai 4 asics. they feel funny to me like my toes are clinching when i am walking with them on. when i run i stay on the balls of my feet and i don't feel that. i have not taken them more than 5 miles at a time. let me do a 10 or 13.1 mile run in them and i will be able to tell more about the toe clench thing. the forefoot is not as stable as the kensai 4. feels loose, more like an old pair of brooks infinity i had a few years back. runs fine but just feels sloppy, i put 400 miles on those with no problem, so hopefully these will serve me as well. the nike zoom elite 7 that are in my rotation have 500 miles on them and i hope they go another 200. they have revised them and i cannot get another pair. i have run in them and in the kensai-4 in hot and cold on track, road, and trail and never even think about my feet. so far, the wave prophecy 3 have been good. maybe i will give another review at 400 miles and tell you more.

Better for heavier runners

By TennesseeRunner

from Oak Ridge, TN, United States

Comments about MIZUNO Women's Wave Prophecy 3 Running Shoes:

I'm a 5'8" 150 lb runner, ran competitively in high school and college, logging 20-40 miles/week, with a mix of 60% roads and 40% earthen/rocky trails. I've worn Asics Nimbus, Nike Pegasus, and Brooks Ghost. This shoe is my first foray into Mizuno and I'll have to say I'm disappointed; more expensive does not necessarily mean you'll be getting a better shoe. Other reviewers have focused on the lack of transition from heel to toe and the lack of support on the upper. I'll confirm both of those problems and add a few observations of my own. I'm a faster runner at a training pace of 6-7/min per mile and land primarily on my forefoot. This shoe does not support that running stride, as the structure and rigidity do not allow much flex in the shoe. I find have to modify my form to land flat on the full length of the shoe surface or slam my heel to lessen the impact and do an awkward transition forward. They are stiff as bricks after the first 20 miles; not sure if they will soften-up. The upper is nice, breathable, and of soft material, but apparently, my normal size 9 is WAY too big to fit into their size 9. I have to cinch them down, causing the seam at the tongue to bulge upward or inward (and inward hurts the top of my foot). I slide all around in these things and have never had that problem before in any other running shoe of size 9. Where the "arches" of the shoe skid surface meet the upper, there is incredible stiffness and lack of cushioning, hitting right behind the little toe and radiating up into the arch of the foot--never felt that from any other shoe, either. I suppose because of the design, this was unavoidable, but didn't expect one part of the running platform to be less cushioned than the others--my forefoot running form may intensify this pain. Overall, these are not a fast shoe for lighter runners--they feel stiff, high-profile, and unforgiving. I only plan to wear them on short runs or shopping, since the discomfort from wearing them while running outweighs all other concerns. Short assessment? A beautiful shoe, where form and function are not connected (think Adidas Springblade without the spring, or the old Nike Shox).

best running shope on the market

By ElRod

from Texas, United States

Comments about MIZUNO Women's Wave Prophecy 3 Running Shoes:

Love this shoe, after buying 1 pair a few months ago I realized that this was the shoe for me. I've undergone 2 Plantar Fasciitis release surgeries in the last 2 years and have had trouble finding a good shoe for my needs. I now own every color you offer, yea 6 pairs!!!! and am hoping you don't change this style EVER!!!! My custom orthotics fit perfectly in them and I'm never not in a pair of Prohecy 3's :)

What they say

By furanophil

from Japan

Comments about MIZUNO Women's Wave Prophecy 3 Running Shoes:

No doubt what the professionals say is true with this latest edition. The ride is subliminal and is stable at the same time. It has been written that some find the forefoot of putting and I would agree with that. My toes tend to get numb running in these babies. Though I would get classed as a heel striker I find there is a feeling of dragging my heels on the ground. This may do with the fact it's a higher stack height then what I am used to. So overall an excellent shoe but one that doesn't quite work for me. I would mostly run in my wave riders.

Step back from the first wave prophecy

By Nate525

from Minnesota, United States

Comments about MIZUNO Women's Wave Prophecy 3 Running Shoes:

I bought the new wave prophecy 3 about 3 months ago and I am a little disappointed coming from the original wave prophecy. My issue with the new wave prophecy is the the front part of sole underneath the toebox. I don't know if I got a poorly crafted pair or if this is a design flaw but the wave plate doesn't seem to go the front of the shoe and it feels like I have a large rock stuck under the front of my shoe. It doesn't seem to matter if I am running indoor or outdoor the problem is there. I also don't feel the smooth transition from heel to toe that was present for the first wave prophecy. Overall these shoes are better than the majority on the market but still a step back. I only wish I would of stockpiled pairs of the original wave prophecy. I can't rack up the miles like used to with the originals.

Mizuno failed in Prohecy 3 design. I hope Prophecy 4's design similar as Prophecy 2 (the best)
