      Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Kayak:

I've turned this kayak into a serious fishing kayak and could not be happier. I've floated miles of the snake river with this kayak and have hit plenty of underwater rocks when I wasn't paying attention, the shell is thick and sturdy and will take plenty of abuse. Primary use is for bass and catfish in the local lakes and rivers, I will be buying a second one for my wife for kayak camping this year. I bought this one over the "Angler" version since I wanted to mount my own rod holders in the locations I wanted them and saved plenty of money doing so.

      Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Kayak:

The Tamarack was on sale so I bought it thinking it would perform close enough to my Wilderness Systems Tarpon 100 to be happy with it. It doesn't. It is a pretty stable platform for beginners but you better not be looking to cover much ground. The dimensions are nearly identical to my Tarpon but the Tamarack tends to plow as soon as you start to pick up any speed. I don't mean like nose under but it is definitely pushing water rather than a smooth glide.

Now I knew it wouldn't perform as well as the boat that was over twice the price but it's to the point that no one wants to use it because of the extra effort to keep up. My mom has an Ocean Kayak Venus 11 that far out performs the Tamarack also so we do have plenty of experience with the shorter boats.

A few years ago Wilderness Systems slightly changed their molds and now the older Tarpon series are being sold as Perception Sport Pescador. They are about 60% of the cost of a Tarpon and worth the extra you will spend over the Lifetime Tamarack.

      Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Kayak:

I am very pleased at the size and how stable the kayak is, I use it to fish from very easy to paddle. But my stickers on it are all messed up. Mine says Tamatack instead of tamarack. The letters are peeling off and I have only had it in the water twice.

        Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Kayak:

I don't take the kayaks out too often, so I bought two of these Lifetime Tamarack Kayak while it was on sale. I can't compare these to the more expensive kayaks since I don't know the difference. When I take it out, it keeps me on top of the water, and goes in the direction I paddle. Coming from inflatable kayaks (which I highly recommend to people who needs the portability), these Tamaracks are great.

When I bought it last year, it was missing a rod holder (one of my tamaracks was the angler model). It wasn't until today, over a year later, passed the warranty period that I decided to call about Lifetime about it.

Also, you should know the side holders have rivet issues that needs to be replaced. My seat strap also broke when I was leaning too hard on it.

To get to my point, Lifetime replaced all missing and broken items without a hassle. I did not have to locate my missing receipts or anything. They are an awesome company.

        Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Kayak:

Two days of smallmouth fishing and by the end of it the backrest was bent out shape and would fold over backwards if I put enough pressure on it. I'll probably have to mod it and put in a aluminum frame seat. Otherwise, it's a good kayak for the price.

              Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Kayak:

The only thing better than getting a Lifetime Tamarack 120 is getting it from Sports Authority. They are all about customer service and satisfaction.I highly recommend them and this kayak. The Tamarack is as stable as a queen-size bed, yet it moves through the water effortlessly. I did try others [both sit-in and sit-on-top] and this one left the others just sittin' on the bank.

                  Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Kayak:

I use this kayak inshore in Fl does a good job, BUT you might have to change out a rivet/s on the side handles (easy), for the price this thing is great.
If you are going to put some serious miles paddling this is not the kayak for you, but for the weekend putzn around the mangroves/nearshore it is fine...If you are newbie to yak'n, renting one from a local shop is a good idea so you get the feel for what your needs are..
