Comments about Emotion Kayaks Emotion Envy Kayak:

I got this for Christmas gift from my husband after 4 days kayaking with friends at Lake Tahoe the summer before. I live in the High Sierras and I just love Bucks Lake every weekend now that I have my lake toy. It's easy to get in/out of, carries all my necessities and then some, its way easy to maneuver and I'm learning new tricks every time on the water. The dry storage holds plenty, but don't plan on fitting a semi large bag in. Your stuff will have to be broken down to fit through the smaller hatch opening. I do need to silicone the styrofoam divider, because my dry storage isn't that dry, but its an easy fix. I am really liking the calming effect I get when paddling across the lake. The best destressor ever! I can spend the entire day paddling around checking things out and totally lose track of time, but for tracking the sun. Also discovered my husband gets all freaked out inside and has developed a panic disorder when it comes to paddling across the lake in fear of drowning and doesn't trust a life jacket. So I guess it's just me and the girls all day on the lake! I'm good with that.

Comments about Emotion Kayaks Emotion Envy Kayak:

Bought two of these kayaks for a Boundary Waters trip in MN. We loaded both boats down with gear, filled the rear hatch, a large 30L dry bag by the feet, and strapped more dry bags on both the front and rear. They performed extremely well for a 12 mile paddle and portaged great with the help of portage wheels. I replaced the screws in both handles with stainless steel bolts, washers and nuts to keep them from pulling out. I added fishing pole holders and also applied silicone caulk around the foam divider behind the seat, to make sure the rear hatch stayed water tight, in case of a capsize. The rear hatch door is very small and doesn't allow large dry bags to be stowed in there. We just packed items individually into the rear compartment and then put them in the dry bags once we made camp. The seat is very comfortable and the paddle keepers on each side are really convenient. Overall, I would recommend this kayak for recreational use.

Comments about Emotion Kayaks Emotion Envy Kayak:

My first use of this kayak was on a multiday camping trip on the Connecticut River in VT. It is a very capable kayak and handled well with the additional weight of gear. The v-shaped hull provides great tracking. The seat is extremely comfortable in both upright aggressive position as well as laid back position. Dual paddle holders are a nice feature and double as fishing rod holders. The rear hatch entry is very small at 8" in diameter and had a leaky seal that falls out of place. Lifetime Products provided me with a replacement hatch within a week.
The biggest dry bag I was able to fit through the hatch was <12 liters but a 30-35 liter bag fits nicely in the bow and/or behind the seat. Similar to other reviewers, I have experienced the front and rear handles loosening but I was able to retighten.
I have since take this boat on several day trips in the lakes, ponds, rivers and the Long Island Sound with no issues.
A larger rear hatch entry, cup holder and more secure handles would make this a perfect entry/intermediate boat for the casual kayaker.
